DEAR DIARY
Dear diary, this body of work will explore the nature of childhood, more specifically girlhood, and it’s ties to the complexities of time and memory.
Completed 2022.
AXROSS
This work attempts to dig into personal grief and potential assimilation that religion has inflicted in regard to identity and healing processes. How does objectification and tradition influence beauty? Will answers to questions asked since youth be found? Comfort is not viable when we learn and grow.
Completed 2021.
THE YEAR WITHOUT SUMMER
Inspired by a handful of months spent in New Zealand in 2019 as an escape from the global crisis in 2020, self-portraiture is the main subject in the majority of these works. Memories are physically manifested and contrasted with documentation and idealized reality from the accumulation of journal pages, drawings, writings, music, videos and photos taken during that time, filtered through a short film.
Completed 2020.
POST GRAD WORK
Since graduating with a Bachelors in Studio Art in 2022, I hope that I can establish my presence and my art as both meaningful and beautiful. I also hope to bring peace and love and education through my art. Art gives us the opportunity to share our story with the people around us and the people we might not know yet.
